These groups are without the luxury of an established leadership such as the Pope or catholic oligarchy. Would it not be fair to say that the celebrity of the Pope as a 'leading spokesperson and figurehead of the catholic church' is little different to the celebrity of say, Richard Dawkins, as a 'leading spokesperson and figurehead of the secular movement'?
